What I Haven't Done v. 1 & Giveaway Alert

I think everyone has mornings like these.
When you start thinking "Oh, I've never done that."
At least, I have them a bit.
Not because I regret things often, but because I like to expand and grow.
Not physically, though!
So I decided to write a post about all the things I haven't done, but would like to.

Should I make this into a link-up?

Week 1

I would really like to surf. I'm simply terrified of doing this, though. Not because I don't want to be injured - which would very, very likely happen - or because I don't want salt water penetrating my poor nostrils - again, likely - but because I'm way too "osmdgksdgjsf" about sharks. I know Bethany Hamilton's accident is a one-in-a-million type of thing, but it scarred me when it first happened. Ever since then, the idea of surfing frightens me. I'd really like to learn one day. Maybe I can go on one of those fake rides.

I would really like to snorkel. This one I'm fascinated by. No terror needed. I'd love to swim with the fish, have them tickle my sides with their fins (fact: I am not ticklish), and just swim among them. Or scuba-diving. Hm.. No, snorkeling.

I would really really like to own a sugar glider.... or two. I'm trying to convince my parents that having two baby gliders illegally at my campus is a good idea for my birthday. After all, I generally don't ask for anything on my birthday, and last year my family forgot about it because I was away at uni. (Thankkkkks guys!) Aren't they so cute? Pricey though. I may have to settle for gift cards.

I would really really really like to be the person who changes a life with my smile. You always hear about that story where the man jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge, and if you haven't - he walked from his house to there, which was a long walk from my understanding, and his suicide note said, "If even one person smiles at me on my way, I will not jump." Well, I already told you how it ends. And that absolutely breaks my heart. If I can be a light for somebody, I want to be. If I can plant a seed of love, I want to.

What haven't you done?

Oh, a big P.S.
This is my 98th post! :) I want to have a giveaway for my 100th.
It probably won't be huge, but stick around because there will definitely be gift card action, if nothing else.

  1. Such a great post! I have never done, but would like to do all those things! Well, I'm scared of surfing, too, because the ocean scares me. I did snorkel a little in the Bahamas, but nothing major. I have never been ice skating or skiing but would love to do those things. My husband and our friends are trying to get me to go cave spelunking and white water rafting, neither of which I've done, and both of which I'm like "aghh!" about. So we'll see, lol.

  2. My granddad had an accident when "body surfing" so I think I'm too chicken to try any kind of surfing. =P
I definitely try to smile at people! Half the time, I see someone in a store and think it's someone I know, so I smile; turns out I usually don't know them and I just totally made a stranger's day lol.

  3. I really really really want to learn to surf and snorkel and scuba dive! Before I realized that I would have to take a million and one science classes, I wanted to be a marine biologist because I loved the ocean so much.

  6. First, you should make your "everything I want to do" into a link-up. I'd join! Second, definitely do a give-away. Third, I nominated you for a blog award! Check out my post today to see how to accept :)
