High Five for Friday!

Another phone post! Sorry that it won't be beautiful, but sometimes that stuff happens. I'm trying out the Blogger app, we'll see how that goes.

#1. I got to spend a few days with my friend Gabbie. I don't get to see her very often because she lives a bit far. It's been a little unwelcoming in ways (I.e. she's constantly talking on her phone or her iPad, not really spending time with me) but I'm still really having a nice time with her. We had pumpkin vegan pancakes yesterday :3 And she bought me a ring.

#2. I kicked butt at the gym yesterday. Gabbie and I both did. I don't know about her, but my triceps are PISSED at me right now. But I felt great all day and my metabolism was on fire. I have hypothyroidism so I rarely feel that adrenaline.

#3. I have Destination Unknown coming up on Saturday. It's something my Youth leaders put on. They tell us how to dress and what money to being and that's it. We aren't allowed to know where we go or what activities we do. It's so fun. Last year we went to Cape May zoo for a scavenger hunt, then to a ferry which took us to a Delaware beach (on ye way we saw dolphins) and then we had a beach day all day. It was nice and cozy.

#4. I was able to speak to Oscar twice since he left. I miss him do much that it's pathetic. He's in El Salvador until August 22, for those of you just visiting.

#5. I am alive ♥ So is Gabbie (my left)

High 5 For Friday!

Linking up at H54F!

Unfortunately, I have a sleeping Oscar on my lap so I'm going to have to do this from my phone. Bear with me a little bit, as I won't be able to make this very pretty ;)

Five wonderful things from this week:

one. Oscar came to visit me again in Jersey until next Monday morning. He lives in Brooklyn, so he isn't far away, but it'll be the last time we see one another before school begins again. He's leaving to visit family in El Salvador from July 17-August 22. I'm really going to miss him and feel blessed that we could work out our differences from earlier in the week to enjoy one another's company.

two. The weather has been in the lower 90s in Jersey, thank God! I couldn't handle the massive heat wave we were receiving. I miss the coolness of Albany.

three. After Youth Group on Wednesday, I went to a friend's house for a Bon fire and it was so good. I was in an awful mood but being surrounded by all of the nice people in my life really lifted me up. Not to mention I got two hours of sleep before having to pick Oscar up at the station!

four. I recieved a letter from my friend Victor, who is undergoing boot camp for the Army at the moment. I can't wait to write him back; I miss him!

five. I'm alive :) this is always my fifth one.

High Five for Friday

I've seen a lot of this going on, so I thought I'd have my own post. The original link-up is here! I think it's a good concept to review your week and see what's gone right for you. SO often we focus on the negative things in our day.

1. Christian-inspired novels. I've been doing a lot of reading and the stories are very encouraging and uplifting. I'm really enjoying them and plan to do a lot more reading this summer -before- university steals every waking minute of my life!
2. I got to spend time not only with Oscar and my Youth Group this past Monday as I blogged about, but I also got to see off Victor and we've been keeping in touch as often as we can. He's going to begin boot camp for the U.S. Army soon. I'm scared for him but oh so proud!
3. The weather in Jersey is beautiful.
4. I recently discovered a vegan recipe blog and I'm beyond excited. Matthew has so many pumpkin recipes and fun fact -- that's both my favourite flavour AND smell. I can't wait until I have some money.
5. I'm alive, healthy, full of faith, and surrounded by love.
