Blog Star: Oh, You Always Want More

This post is a part of the Mrs. Monologues Link-Up! I just did a post with a few facts about me, but you always want more, right!? :)

My last name is Tiralli and absolutely nobody pronounces it correctly. Not even us, to be honest. Americanized, it is pronounced ter-ahl-ee but my family pronounces it as ter-ehl-ee. I didn't discover this mispronunciation until two years ago when my dad expressed that he had been the one to change it as a kid, as he didn't like how often people couldn't pronounce it right.

I absolutely love giving kisses on the cheek and recieving them. It's in my top five favourite things - cheek kisses. I feel like it's inbred in my Italian culture but I really do feel so special when people give me kisses. :) Oh, and I adore that boy up there.

The Beatles are my favourite band and have been since I was a wee kid. I had no idea how popular they had been until I had liked them for a year or two but I'm glad either way. Their music makes me happy, relaxes me, and just puts a smile on my face.

I usually look for this symbol on the food that I purchase. As I vegan, I'm frequently checking the ingredient lists on things and seeing this symbol saves me a load of work. I love my diet and I wouldn't change it for the world.

  1. Thanks so much for linking up! My new last name is hard to pronounce too, even though it is only 5 letters long! Have you had the sweet and sara vegan smores? soooo good.

    1. Sometimes the shortest names are the hardest! I have, actually. I prefer their rice krispies treats! Too yummy.

  2. Hi, stopping in from blog star. I hear ya, my name never gets pronounced right.

I have to say, I'm not a fan of cheek kisses (well, among strangers), but it's part of my mom's culture so I'm used to it by now, I guess

    I'm impressed that you're a vegan, I know that's a lot of hard work!

    1. My first name used to be mispronounced all the time as well. "Elsie." And thank you! I've been a vegan going on five years now :)

  3. Hi, popped on over from blog star and I'll be nosying around a bit more - love the look of the 15 day challenge :) I live in Spain, so cheek kisses are commonplace, but it's always a bit weird when you meet a mix of Spanish and English people as you're never quite sure what to do with the fellow Englishers - lots of slightly awkward situations there! In general, I love that it's all a bit more affectionate over here though!

    1. Glad to have you, thanks for stopping by :) The fifteen day challenge is really nifty, you should definitely get involved!

Many of my friends are Hispanic but I find that usually only my Puerto Rican and Dominican friends are cheekkissers! My Chilean, Salvadorean, and Peruvian friends shy away from it. Usually my Italian friends are affectionate like me though! But I wish it was more commonplace.

Hey there! Thank you for taking the time to comment. Your words mean so much to me and I promise, I'll do my best to personally reply back :)
